Overview

Karl Jays partnered with UNFPA and the Ministry of Health Kenya to conduct a comprehensive review of the status of maternal and newborn health (MNH) in Kenya. The assignment aimed to generate evidence-based insights to inform policy recommendations that enhance service access, strengthen reporting systems, foster public-private partnerships, and guide strategic investment in maternal health.

Scope of the Assignment

The consultancy focused on synthesizing existing primary data and literature to provide a clear picture of MNH service delivery and outcomes. Key activities included:

Using a document-based analytical approach, Karl Jays triangulated data from national surveys, health system reports, and global benchmarks. The findings were presented to key stakeholders, including government officials, health sector partners, and development agencies, through interactive workshops that validated insights and shaped the final recommendations.
